Delicious Library!

Oh man … it’s finally here! I’ve been waiting for this for a LONG time and they finally released it today! It’s amazing. Basically, Delicious Library is a cataloging system on your MAC that keeps track of your books, movies, music and games. But, instead of doing it in a flat boring text-based database, it does it graphically. These guys are amazing. One guys a junior in high school (geniuses like the creators of Adium).

So, do you have to enter all your books, cds, dvds, and games manually? Of course not! Two ways: 1) Built in, you just type the title of the book/dvd and it searches amazon and pulls ALL the data into the database automatically, including the front cover! Then the program graphically enhances the front cover into 3D and man it looks SO good! Or you can just type the barcode on the back of your book/dvd/cd and it will automatically pull all the info too. 2) If you have an iSight webcam, you can just put the book/dvd/cd in front of your iSight and it will read the barcode and look it up on amazon and enter it automatically! Man, that’s brilliant!

Ok, other features … iPod syncing so that you always have your catalog wherever you go, connects with Address Book on the Mac (so that you can say so-and-so borrowed this DVD and you can even set a due date and it will automatically enter into your iCal), two-click purchase on Amazon.com, voice search (just say the title and it will find it instantly), recommendations for similar products, and much much more!

Check it out … Here’s some screenshots of my library:
