Firefox Extensions

Ok, so now you’ve got Firefox 1.5. What next? Well, one of the great benefits of having Firefox over Internet Explorer or Safari is for the extensions. There are three great extensions that EVERY Firefox user (Mac or PC) should install.

1) SessionSaver – One of the greatest features of Firefox are the tabs. If you’re not using tabs on Firefox, you haven’t even discovered the beauty of it. So, you use tabs. But has this ever happened to you? You have been surfing the net and have about 5-10 tabs open and you want to restart your computer OR someone closes your browser and you lose all of the tabs (opened sites). Enter SessionSaver extension. This will save all those tabs so that the next time you open Firefox, everything is right there. Neat!

2) Adblock – This is a must have extension with so many ads and popups/popunders out there on the net these days. It’s really hard to tell what is content and what are ads on some of these sites. Adblock is the extension that blocks it out for you. You’ll be amazed at how clean your web surfing will be without ads (even checking your webmail)!!! But, you can’t just use Adblock by itself.

3) Filterset.G Updater – With Adblock, I used to manually block things out when I saw them or other people use a list acquired from somewhere to block out most ads. This extension automatically downloads the latest list of ad sites and will import them into Adblock for you automatically and behind the scenes. Nice!

There are other extensions that I use (SearchKeys, FoxyTunes, etc.), but those 3 are a MUST.

Anyone else recommend any other extensions?
