From the book Good to Great by Jim Collins:
Good is the enemy of great. And that is one of the key reasons why we have so little that becomes great.
We don’t have great schools, principally because we have good schools. We don’t have great government, principally because we have good government. Few people attain great lives, in large part because it is just so easy to settle for a good life. The vast majority of companies never become great, precisely because the vast majority become quite good - and that is their main problem.
This is a great principle to learn from the “corporate” world that can be applied to church and even our faith. Why is it that most of us settle for just good? Maybe because it’s good. I think it’s easy to make decisions where we get rid of things that are bad. But what if striving for great means that we shake up what is good? Are we willing to do that? Are we willing to risk good for great?
Stretch me, God, out of the comfort zone of goodness and help me to reach for greatness!

I like the look of the book image you posted. Nice job.
We’ll have some good things to discuss with the DVD’s my dad is lending me. 2 of them have Jim Collins. I think even your hero (idol). Should be a good learning experience.
Do you want me to pick up any A2 stuff? Or if we really want any we can just order it. Probably this choice.
PK its really cold here. Not too cool. Enjoying my time.
I’ll have to tell you about the Thanksgiving service.
They did it on gratitude. The kids pastors did. And handed out a little packet. Its totally from your mecca. Pretty cool.
