As a Christian I must remember not only that I was saved by grace, but that I am loved this day by grace. God did not save me by grace only to decide that now he will base how he feels about me on my spiritual performance yesterday. God’s love is always a gracious love.
God himself says you are chosen. You are wanted. God desires you for his family. Today. This is the wonder of grace. - John Ortberg
What a reminder! Why do I keep thinking that grace is what I needed (salvation) rather than what I live by each day? Why is it that I know that works righteousness is not the way to receive salvation but I keep trying to “perform” spiritually for my daily walk? And why is it that I forget daily that even my faith is not about my own doing, but what God does graciously in and through me?
GRACIOUS God, remind me over and over again like you did today!
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God. - Ephesians 2:8
