I believe that with the explosion of All-You-Can-Eat(AYCE) BBQ places in L.A., Gil Mok is now only worth going to for their Kook-Soo (noodle). I have NEVER liked their meat, but it was cheap. But given that down the street at Ma Dang Sae, you can have AYCE BBQ for $7.99 (yes, that is right, $7.99), I usually steer clear of Gil Mok. Speaking of AYCE, right now a trendy place is Moo Dae Po II. It's loud and very hectic, but the food quality and service is very good. They also finish the meal with warm kalkuksoo. Not bad. All for under $20.
