Ok, is it just me or did you always want a racing car bed ever since you saw Ricky Schroder in Silver Spoons? A ten year old kid who had video arcade games and a freight train running in his living room, was the envy of many boys growing up.

Went to pick a tree with Kailey and Emily yesterday and they had a blast! They were weaving in and out of trees and finding them was like trying to find them in a forest! We finally got the “perfect” tree and dragged it into the house (needles and all). The kids were so excited! Christmas music was playing, Kathy was baking cookies, Kailey and Emily put all the ornaments on, and Nathan put the angel on the top of the tree. The best part …
Had a defining moment the other day.
I don’t know how many times we have told the kids that the baby doll strollers stay in the play room and not in mom and dad’s room! It seems everyday! And it seems like they understand and it lasts for a day or two. Then you see it again and you have to tell them again. Kailey lost her 3rd tooth the other day. Man, she always gets excited when that happens cause she knows that means money! She put her tooth in a ziplock and put it under her pillow and the next day she woke me up with the tooth in my face crying that the tooth fairy forgot about her. Oops! The “tooth fairy” did forget … Bad parents! We said, “maybe the tooth fairy was busy.” She put it under her pillow again the next night …
There’s nothing better than home, that’s for sure! Especially after 16 hours of driving! Wow … what a trip. It was great to spend time with dad and mom and grandparents and for them to spend time with the kids. Everytime I visit relatives, the first thing they have me do is look at their computer to fix whatever is wrong with it. On this trip, I fixed 6 computers (all PCs) and created a website for my dad’s new church. Man, can’t get …
Went to play golf today (haven’t played in ages!) with my dad in the country side somewhere in Oregon. Anyway, it was the third hole, par 3, 116 yards, and my dad hit this PERFECT shot. I thought it was gonna hit the flag but it was short. I just saw this white ball hit the front of the green and then roll toward the cup and disappear! Never seen a hole-in-one in my life! After 15 hours of driving, we are here in Portland, Oregon! We traveled 1,050 miles, which averages 69.8 mph! Not bad with three young kids! We stopped at Carls Jr, Taco Bell, McDonalds, and many many gas stations. All in all, it wasn’t that bad … but we’re just glad we’re here. We’ll do it again to go back in a couple of days!
Kailey had her birthday party at Chuck-E-Cheese today with her 1st grade school class. She had a blast as well as her classmates! At one point, they were all yelling in unison, “Party, party, party, party!” Anyway, as a parent, it was really good to meet her classmates that she talks about all the time. I was looking forward to meeting Allen (the boy who taught Kailey to say, “you want a piece of me?”). But, he wasn’t able to come.
